Thursday’s Double Feature: Gorgeous Leaves Cards

I love the detail and texture of the images in the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. I used this beautiful stamp set to create my cards for my Thursday’s Double Feature this week. I used Thick Basic White cs & the more spring colors of Mint Macaron & Soft Sea Foam for the first card and more traditional fall colors, the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, and colored Black & White Gingham ribbon for the second card. Card 1 ~

Start with a Mint Macaron cs card base. Cut a Thick Basic White cs panel. Stamp the leaf image from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set three times in Mint Macaron ink down the right side of the panel close to the middle and then stamp the large splatter image over & around the stamped leaves in Soft Sea Foam ink (I totally forgot to do this in during my live). Add color to the edges of the panel with Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend.

Wrap the panel with Linen Thread four times using Stampin’ Seal to adhere the ends to the back of the panel. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the wrapped panel to the card base.

Cut a Thick Basic White cs strip and stamp the sentiment from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Mint Macaron ink. Flag one end of the strip and cut off the excess on the other with paper snips. Add color to the edges of the sentiment strip with Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to the sentiment strip to the top of the card base overlapping the wrapped Linen Thread. Tie a Linen Thread double bow with long ends and add it beneath the sentiment with glue dots.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment and the leaf & splatter images down the side of the inside panel and on the back of the card to pull the theme through.

Card Measurements :
Mint Macaron cs – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″.
Thick Basic White cs panel – 5 1/4″ x 4″.
Thick Basic White cs sentiment panel – 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ flagged front edge with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.

Card 2 ~

Start with a Mossy Meadow cs card base. Cut a Beauty of the Earth DSP panel, Mossy Meadow cs panel, and the three Very Vanilla cs panels. Stamp the leaves in Mossy Meadow ink, Crushed Curry ink, Cajun Craze ink on the Very Vanilla cs panels. Use glue to add the stamped Very Vanilla cs to the Mossy Meadow cs panel (I glued the sides first and then added the middle). Then glue the panels to the DSP panel. Color a piece of Black & White Gingham ribbon with the Dark Stampin’ Blend and then wrap it around the panels below the Mossy Meadow cs panel using Stampin’ Seal to adhere the ends to the back of the panels.

Cut a Very Vanilla cs strip and then stamp the sentiment from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink. Flag both ends of the sentiment and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add it to the right of the card front under the wrapped ribbon.

Color another piece of Black & White Gingham ribbon with the Dark Stampin’ Blend and tie a small bow. Use a glue dot to add it on the wrapped ribbon above the sentiment. Add Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front under the sentiment.

Don’t forget to add a Very Vanilla cs inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment & leaf and add a strip of DSP to the inside & back of the card to pull the theme through.

Mossy Meadow cs card base – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″.
Beauty of the Earth DSP panel – 5 1/4″ x 4″ plus two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
Mossy Meadow cs image layer panel – 1 3/4″ x 4 1/4″.
Very Vanilla cs small rectangles – three at 1 1/2″x 1 1/4″.
Very Vanilla cs sentiment panel – 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ flag both ends with paper snips.
Very Vanilla cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
Black & White Gingham ribbon
DSP = Designer Series Paper
