For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge I created a card with the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and the Sketched Butterflies stamp set. I stamped the butterflies and the sentiment directly on the Designer Series Paper, instead of adding layers that would cover the beautiful pattern paper.

Start with a Boho Blue cardstock card base. Cut a Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel, dry emboss the panel with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder. Cut a Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper panel. Stamp butterflies from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Memento Black ink directly onto the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper panel. Use a Water Painter to add Blackberry Bliss ink to color the butterflies. Stamp the sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Memento Black ink on the top right corner of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper panel.
Glue the stamped Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper to the embossed Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel. Glue the panels to the card base. Add Wink of Stella to the butterflies and the flowers for sparkle. Add Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to the card front to extra sparkle.
Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper down the right side of the of the inside panel. Stamp a small butterfly from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set (mask off the other butterflies) in Memento Black ink on the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, use water painters & Blackberry Bliss ink to color the butterfly, and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Stamp the sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set in Memento Black ink on the inside panel.
I also added a strip of Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, stamped & colored a butterfly, and stamped the sentiment on the back of the card to pull the theme through.
