Glimmer Gal Team July Sketch Challenge – Come Sail Away Suite

The Glimmer Gal Team July sketch challenge is from
Theresa of
 Theresa’s Treasures.

For the July’s Glimmer Gals Team sketch challenge I decided to use the awesome Come Sail Away Suite.

Start with a Night of Navy cs card base. Cut the Very Vanilla cs and the Come Sail Away DSP panels and glue them to the card base. Use the tip of the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and the marker cap to flick color onto the card front.

Die cut out a Night of Navy cs ( 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″) and a Come Sail Away DSP ( 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ ) stitched square layers with the Stitched Shapes dies. Cut out a Very Vanilla cs layer. Glue the Very Vanilla cs layer to the stitched Night of Navy cs square. Glue the DSP stitched square to the Very Vanilla cs layer. Then glue the layers to the top center of the card front. Use the tip of the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and the marker cap to flick color onto the card front.

Stamp the larger sailboat image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy ink on Very Vanilla cs. Die cut out the stamped sailboat with the Smooth Sailing dies. Die cut out a ship wheel from Night of Navy cs and a piece of seaweed from Vellum cs with the Smooth Sailing dies. Use glue dots to attach the seaweed and ship wheel to the stitched DSP square. Attach the sailboat to the stitched DSP square overlapping the seaweed and ship wheel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy ink on Very Vanilla cs. Die cut out the sentiment with the Smooth Sailing dies. Die cut out a Night of Navy cs sentiment layer label. Use paper snips to cut the Night of Navy sentiment layer label in half. Glue the two halves of the Night of Navy label layer behind the Very Vanilla cs sentiment layer and then glue them to the lower center of the card base.

To finish the card front – cut a small piece of the Night of Navy/ Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine and tie it to an anchor trinket with a simple knot. Use glue dots to attach the anchor to the right hand side of the stamped Very Vanilla cs sentiment layer.

Don’t forget to add a Very Vanilla cs inside panel to write your message. I added a strip of DSP, stamped the compass image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy ink, and used the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker to flick color on the inside panel. I also stamped the sailing boat image on the back of the card in Night of Navy ink to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my July Glimmer Gal Team sketch challenge card. You can get all the awesome elements in the Come Sail Away Suite in my Online Store now.
